Alternative Processes | Liquid Light
This one day liquid light experimental photographic workshop introduces the wonders and possibilities of working with liquid emulsion. Liquid emulsion is similar to photographic paper emulsion but it can be painted onto glass, paper, ceramic and wood to form either 2D or 3D outcomes.
You will learn how to safely and effectively use the chemicals and equipment, prepare a variety of different surfaces and objects, and create your own photographic artwork.
We will discuss the relationship between technique and creative vision to help you consider when and why you might wish to use this fascinating process.
Bring a selection of negatives (35mm, 120mm, 5×4) with a broad tonal range and an assortment of thick papers (210gsm+) and materials (cotton, card) to test. You may want to bring some objects to experiment with. We will supply some pre-coated materials for you to use in addition.
