Lightroom for Beginners

A one-day course using Lightroom CC.

For many photographers, Lightroom is the only digital photography image processing software they need. Compact and included in the Creative Cloud Photography plan, it enables the photographer to quickly and reliably import, process and manage their digital images. This course provides a broad introduction to the power of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom CC, much of which can be applied to Lightroom 5 and 4.

Participant requirements:
A basic understanding of photography, as well as a familiarity with using computers

COURSE CONTENT

  • Import and Library – bringing your images out from the camera, and into the computer
  • Basic keywording and rating of images
  • Using Folders, collections, smart collections and collection sets – how to store and find your images
  • The Develop Module – where the magic happens
  • The histogram, what it means, and what it can do for you
  • Cropping, and the Basic Develop Settings
  • Using curves and colour balance tools
  • Lens Corrections
  • Presets and synchronisation – how to speed up your workflow
  • Exporting images for different purposes
  • Sending your images to, and working with them in Adobe Photoshop
