Camera Course | Shooting On Film
We’re noticing that more and more of you are interested in exploring the possibilities of film photography. Why? Some of you are interested in its distinctive look. Some of you want to experiment with a different way of working, you’re looking to SLOW IT DOWN and work more deliberately. And then there are technical advantages (higher dynamic range, for example).
So, we’ve added a new course to our schedule. Whether you are starting from scratch, or need a bit of a refresher, this course is for you. We will explore how to get the most out of film photography, with special attention being paid to metering and exposure. We will discuss approaches to shooting, work though a series of assignments in the local area, process film, and review/discuss resulting contact sheets. The course will run over one full day of shooting and processing and one evening of discussion and review of contact sheets.
The course is suitable for those who have an SLR. Some practical film/darkroom experience is useful, but not necessary.
