An opportunity to explore the rich topic of studio and portrait photography. Francesca will share stories and discuss how she set up and completed her photographic project, Bhopal: Facing 30, with Martin Barnes. As part of the event, Martin will show a series of images from the V&A’s illuminating collection and discuss its evolvement.
Martin Barnes is Senior Curator of Photographs at the V&A. Exhibitions he’s worked on include Diane Arbus “Revelations and Twilight: Photography in the Magic Hour” and “Shadow Catchers: Camera-less Photography”. He authored the book “New Light: Jerwood Photography Awards” where he was also a judge. Alongside working with the vast photography collection and archives within the V&A, he also regularly reviews work by photographers.
