Italian photographer Ken Damy has been collecting photographs with a passion since the 1970s, opening his first gallery in 1974. Located in Brescia, northern Italy, the Museo Ken Damy houses his private collection which includes works by many of the world’s most renowned and collectable photographers. Selected by Ken Damy, this special exhibition is an opportunity to view works by such luminaries as diverse as Ralph Gibson, Dorothea Lange, Joel Peter Witkin, Cindy Sherman and Flor Garduno and also includes the rarely shown full frame image of Che Guevara by Alberto Korda.
Photofusion’s previous collaboration with the Museum was in 2002 when we presented a retrospective exhibition by Mario Giacomelli which became one of the gallery’s most popular shows. We are delighted to have the opportunity of working with Ken Damy again, this time in relation to his personal collection. Dedicated to the photographic arts, Museo Ken Damy also runs a programme of temporary exhibitions, many of which tour internationally, and includes a space devoted to showing work by emerging photographers. For more details visit the Museo Ken Damy website.
