Getting Colour Right

A one day guide to colour management for photographers. Frustrated or intimidated with the difficulty in controlling colour accuracy? This one day course will guide you though the pitfalls of colour calibration.

Colour management – the control of colour through the various elements of an image’s existence, from capture in camera or scanner, through the adjustments made in computer, to output on paper and screen.

Course Content

  • What is colour
  • How devices record and interperate colour
  • Capture, working and output colour spaces, and how colour information travels from one device space to another
  • RGB – CMYK – greyscale
  • Computer screens, and the viewing environment – how to set your screen and working area to maximise print predictability
  • Monitor calibration devices – settings, options and usage
