Who we’ve been printing in the Digital Bureau this week…

This week in the digital bureau we have been printing the work of Elena Zaytseva for an upcoming exhibition that she has curated at Pushkin House.

The exhibition, Akhmatova. Anrep. Berlin, is a site specific installation by artist Vitaly Pushnitsky with the video works by Olga Jurgenson commissioned by Pushkin House in collaboration with the Anna Akhmatova Museum in St.-Petersburg. It is based on archive materials both of the Museum and Pushkin House, related to the life and work of Anna Akhmatova (1889 – 1966), who was one of the most significant Russian poets of the twentieth century.

All of the images have been printed on a mix of Canson Platine Rag and Epson Enhanced Matt, and mounted on to white mount board.

The archive materials are arranged around British connections of Anna Akhmatova that allow a questioning of the missions and roles of Pushkin House as an institution for Russian culture in London. The exhibition aims to start a long-term project at Pushkin House called ‘House Museum at Pushkin House’ to commission works from contemporary artists to explore and rethink the archives of memorial museums dedicated to significant artists, writers or thinkers.
