Alternative Processes | Solarisation Workshop
Invented by accident by Lee Miller and Man Ray, this darkroom technique partially reverses the tones of a photograph, whilst also enhancing the metallic properties of the silver gelatin paper.
We will use high contrast negatives in the darkroom as usual, partially develop the image and expose to a small amount of daylight before returning to the darkroom to fix. This is an experimental process where outcomes can’t be predicted, resulting in surprising and unique prints for each participant.
Please bring your own negatives.
