Photography Exhibition | Flash Forward 2013
PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION DATES
28 OCTOBER – 9 NOVEMBER 2013
The Magenta Foundation is pleased to announce Flash Forward travelling photography exhibition of emerging photographers from Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States at Photofusion.
Curated by Julien Beaupré Ste-Marie, MaryAnn Camilleri & Aline Smithson.
The Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward programme is an annual competition that showcases the work being created by the very best emerging photographers from Canada, the UK and the US. Every year, judges from each of the participating and international countries review the submitted work and identify those young people who they believe show great promise as professional fine art or documentary photographers.
The Flash Forward 2013 Group Show features a select cross-sectionchosen from the bodies of work featured in the competition catalogue. The photography covers all genres—documentary, photojournalism and fine art studio practices—and shows how each of these young photographers is affected and influenced by their mentors, interests and choices of subject matter.
This show pays tribute to the diversity of the annual programme and its growing profile, offering evidence that the best emerging photographers are at the cutting edge of the direction photography will take in the years to come.
The Magenta Foundation gratefully acknowledges the support of Flash Forward Festival Presenting Sponsor TD Bank for their ongoing commitment to Flash Forward and to emerging artists.
