This project was started this year, of 2013, as a response to my University brief. The end result is a body of B&W photographs and statements from individuals giving their own view over African hair. This body of work was finally compiled into a book.
The input from different generations give us an understanding of how the concept of beauty an acceptance change over the years. I also interview individuals who make their living with the hair business specially the ones with special interest on natural African hair. Their insight shows hair is also a philosophy, a life style. I am giving continuation to this project where I want to document personal objects that each individual uses to comb or style their hair.
