What better way to celebrate our 30th anniversary than a £3,000 prize.
The Glover Rayner Prize recognises photographic work that raises questions about environmental issues including climate change, biodiversity, sustainable practices, and other environmental concerns.
This Prize of £3,000 be will awarded to a Photofusion member who has submitted work to our annual Salon. In its inaugural year, the Glover Rayner Prize will be awarded on July 13, which marks Photofusion’s 30thbirthday.
Gina Glover and Geof Rayner were founding members of Photo-Coop, which later became Photofusion. Gina was one of the original documentary photographers who established the Co-op, Geof was, for many years, the Chair of the Board, steering Photofusion through its formative years. Geof and Gina remain very active in our Photofusion community – both continue to be on the board of Photofusion Education Trust.
To be considered for the prize, you must submit your work through the Salon/21 open call. Salon itself is a single image exhibition, but you can submit up to 7 images. We recommend that you submit 7 images from the same body of work if you would like to be considered for the Glover Rayner Prize. You will be asked to write a paragraph about how your work relates to the brief. We are looking at this subject in the widest possible terms, so maybe your work deals directly with climate change or other environmental issues such as biodiversity or pollution, or maybe you are experimenting with sustainable darkroom practices. You tell us about your work and the questions it raises, we are looking forward to hearing from you!
