20 Images x 20 Seconds. Come along to hear from 8-10 of the photographers from the SALON/13 Members’ exhibition present a larger selection of images from their project in the show following the Pecha Kucha 20×20 format.
Each artist will have a slideshow of 20 images, and only 20 seconds per image to talk, resulting in a series of quickfire talks lasting exactly 6 minutes and 40 seconds each, followed by a short Q&A session at the end.
The participating artists include: Andrew Chisholm, Andrew Youngson, Chiara Ceolin, Grant Simon Rogers, Jo Syz, Joseph Jacob, Judith Lyons, Kim Shaw, Paul Iwala, and Tom Flynn.
“Pecha Kucha”, which translates loosely as ‘chit chat’ in Japanese, is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (six minutes and 40 seconds in total).
PechaKucha Night was devised in February 2003 by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham of Tokyo’s Klein-Dytham Architecture (KDa), as a way to attract people to SuperDeluxe, their experimental event space in Roppongi, and to allow young designers to meet, show their work, and exchange ideas.
Most presenters are design professionals showing their creative work, but presenters often speak about such topics as their travels, research projects, student projects, hobbies, collections, or other interests.
