Print with us.

We admit it, we have a thing for red lights, the smell of fix and the sound of water washing over prints. From day one, 30 years ago, darkrooms and Photofusion have been synonymous. Our move into Beehive Place has allowed us to go one better and upgrade the space which includes four black and white enlargers and three colour enlargers, as well as a Solo Darkroom suitable for black and white or alternative processes, complete with UV Exposure Unit.

Our black and white darkrooms are set up for tray processing of resin coated and/or fibre based archival prints. There are four black and white enlargers fitted with Ilford 500 Multigrade diffuser light sources, with lenses and negative masks to enable printing of most film formats from 35mm to 5x4. We provide an archival washer and custom built fiberglass mesh racks for air drying archival fibre-based prints. For resin coated prints, we have a drying machine.

We will supply chemistry, easels, grain magnifiers, negative carriers and tongs. You will need to bring your own paper, canned air, loupes and dodging tools. Parallax Photographic is onsite and you can order your paper in advance from them.

Maximum size prints are 16x20 in the black and white darkroom, 20x24 in the colour darkroom, and 20x24 in the solo black and white darkroom.

Inductions.

You will need an induction to familiarise yourself with our kit and the ins and outs of our darkrooms.

Please let us know that you will need an induction when you book.

If you are a young person/student, please let us know. There are opportunities to come and learn with us a low or no cost. If you have never used a darkroom, you will need to take a course. You can see our courses here:
