Lorenzo Manzo
Hi, I'm Lorenzo (@where_is_manzino). My photography project Witnesses of Time was featured in this year’s Cluster Photography Fair, themed Metamorphosis, where I was selected for the Photofusion Award.
I explored the idea of change not just through what evolves, but through what remains.
Change is constant. Cities expand, technology advances, and cultures shift. Yet, amidst this transformation, some individuals remain seemingly untouched, their presence a testament to a different era. The subjects in these photographs have witnessed the world evolve around them. Their faces, clothing, and traditions belong to a past that coexists with an ever-accelerating present.
While everything around them moves forward, they stand as silent witnesses to metamorphosis. Not through personal transformation, but through the relentless change of the world they inhabit. Their presence contrasts with modernity, reminding us that transformation is not only about what changes, but also about what endures.
I’m genuinely honored to be selected as the winner of the Photofusion Award at this year’s Cluster Photography Fair. It came as a complete surprise, and I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you all so much for believing in my work and for allowing me to be part of the Photofusion community.
This recognition comes at a crucial moment for me. I’ve been wanting to shift my focus more seriously toward my photography career and gradually move away from the hospitality industry. That desire is one of the key reasons I applied at Cluster Photography Fair and being selected truly means a lot.
Access to darkrooms will be instrumental in helping me develop my skills in film photography, and I’m especially looking forward to the portfolio reviews, which I know will help me shape my next body of work with greater clarity and intention.
Thank you again and I’m excited for what’s to come.
