SUMMER SCHOOL
Our Summer School programme is grant funded for children eligible for benefits-related free school meals. We run the programme every summer in collaboration with our partners 198 Contemporary Arts & Learning and host a variety of workshops.
Together we deliver a four week programme, with two courses available to book: In Focus: Photography Course & Creative Minds: Art & Exercise Course. Please note, children are eligible to attend only one week.
This year our summer school will run across 4 weeks in August, with each course lasting 4 days Tuesday- Friday.
In Focus: Photography Course Week 1: 5 August - 8 August
In Focus: Photography Course Week 2: 12 August - 15 August
Creative Minds: Art & Exercise Course Week 3: 19 August - 22 August
Creative Minds: Art & Exercise Course Week 4: 26 August - 29 August
The programme is aimed at helping local families with children and young people aged 8 to 14.
“I already love art but now I know different things”
“It’s really fun, I’ve enjoyed the park and the art”
Across the week, children have access to:
free healthy lunches
45 minutes of exercise per day
artistic workshops including photography, cyanotypes, zine making, vinyl t-shirt printing and clay
Children are encouraged to develop their sense of artistic style and expression in a safe and inclusive environment.
Sessions are designed for children of all skill levels; our focus over the week is always to prioritise and nurture your child’s sense of exploration and play in a community of their peers.
Our activities and services are intended to be inclusive to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
