Fully Funded Place on a Photofusion Course

Successful applicants will receive a free place on one of these introductory photography courses at Photofusion:

  • Introduction to Black & White Darkroom Printing

  • Introduction to Colour Darkroom Printing, or

  • Introduction to Digital Photography

Free Photofusion Membership

Each bursary place will be awarded a free one- year Photofusion membership. Member’s benefits can be found here.

Eligibility

Supported by The Grocers’ Charity, we are offering 12 fully funded bursary places for people aged 30 or under who meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • Identify as being from a Black, Asian or ethnically diverse background; 

  • Identify as working class;

  • or are experiencing financial hardship.

Bursary Places on Paid for Courses

Between September 2026 and June 2027, we are offering 12 emerging artists and photographers a fully funded place on a Photofusion course.

These bursaries aim to support artists and photographers at the start of their creative journeys by reducing financial barriers and increasing access to photography education and professional development.

One-To-One Mentoring

Each bursary given also includes a one-to-one mentoring session with an experienced photographic educator, providing an opportunity to discuss your creative practice, develop your skills and receive tailored guidance.

Application Process

Applications will open on Monday 7 September 2026 and close at 12pm on Monday 5 October 2026.

All eligible applicants will be entered into a random selection, with 12 names chosen to receive a place.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by email by 31 October.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide feedback to applicants who are not selected.
