    For those completely new to high fidelity scanning and archival workflows. 2 hour minimum.

    • Hasselblad/Imacon 949: Virtual drum technology providing up to 8000ppi. Ideal for 35mm, Medium Format (120/220), and 5x4 film. (Note: Cannot accommodate mounted slides).

    • Epson Expression 10000XL: A professional A3 Plus flatbed scanner, perfect for high-resolution digitisation of prints, artwork, and digital contact sheets.

    • Workstation: Dual quad-core MacPro with Adobe Creative Suite, connected to a colour-managed, calibrated Eizo screen.

    • Scanning Speed: For high-resolution scanning, we recommend allowing for an average of 8 frames per hour.

    • Variables: This timeframe is an estimate and will vary depending on your chosen scanning resolution and the level of tone, colour grading, and manual correction required.

    • Formats: The Imacon accommodates strips of 35mm (up to 6 frames), strips of 120, and individual frames of 6x4.5 through to 5x4.

    • Storage: Please bring a USB-A stick or an external hard drive to save your work.

    • Data Deletion: To ensure the workstations remain performant for all users, any scans left on the computer's local drive will be automatically deleted one week after your booking.

    • Session End: You must ensure all files are successfully transferred to your personal storage device before your session ends. Photofusion is not responsible for any data loss once a session has concluded.

      • First-Time Users: If you are using our scanning equipment for the first time, a mandatory 15-minute induction is required at the start of your session. These run Tuesday–Friday, 11am–5pm, and must be arranged at the time of your booking.

      • Returning Users: Once you have completed your induction, you will be provided with a link to our online calendar to book future sessions independently.

      • Location & Access: The Scanning Room is located in our basement suite. Full step-free access is available via our passenger lift.

    • Hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 11am – 5pm.

    • Cancellations: At least 48 hours’ notice is required for a full refund or to reschedule your session.
