Niall Hodson
Hi I am Niall @niallhodsonphotography.
The project below is a very personal campaign with Barnardos children’s charity in collaboration with my primary school in greater Manchester.
I was lucky enough to get Barnardos on board with working with the kids from St Christopher’s primary school to make these images. All the children from year 5 came up with the posing and outfits for each of the photo.
It was a privilege to go back and do this work with the kids and staff.
This project was all hand printed at Photofusion with their amazing darkroom and scanning facilities.
The work next body of work is a range of different images I have made with GQ.
My relationship with this classic publication has allowed me to meet some very interesting and talented people.
Below are some of my favourites.
The final project I am sharing is titled Do you want owt from Paula’s? This is my latest body of personal work which concentrates on my local sandwich shop which closed down after 16 years last September.
Paula’s was the corner stone of my community and unfortunately due to an accumulation of things the shop could no longer exist. On the last Friday the establishment was open I went in with my Pentax and took portraits of as many people as I could who came in to order.
The result is now becoming a 60 page zine which is set to launch on the 4th of July at rare mags in Stockport.
All of these images were hand printed at Photofusion with their amazing darkroom and scanning facilities.
