Negative

An exposed and developed photographic image where the tones are reversed – light areas of the subject appear dark, and dark areas appear light. This negative image is used to print or scan the final positive photograph.

This also commonly refers to film that has been processed, at Photofusion we would use this word to describe film that has been processed and is ready for collection.
