Join us at Photofusion on Thursday 20 August for a special in‑conversation with photographer and video artist Anna Fox, hosted by Photofusion’s Chair of the Board of Trustees, Katy Barron.
This is a chance to hear two deeply experienced voices talk about photography, culture and the way we see ourselves, and to explore how Anna’s sharply observed, often slyly funny portraits sit within our current exhibition, Nice Day For It! The British Summer in Technicolour.
Anna’s books, Resort 1 and Resort 2, which document holiday culture at the iconic Butlin’s resort in the seaside town of Bognor Regis, will be available for purchase on the evening.

Anna Fox is a photographer and video artist whose work, shaped by the British documentary tradition and US “New Colourists,” has explored subjects from Thatcher‑era office life to weekend wargames, and has been exhibited at institutions including The Photographers’ Gallery, Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, the V&A and the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago.
She is a Professor of Photography at University for the Creative Arts at Farnham and leads the Fast Forward: Women in Photography research project.
Katy Barron is Director of Photo Oxford, the biennial photography festival. She has curated exhibitions in the UK and internationally, advised museums and private collectors on acquisitions, run artists’ residencies and prizes, mentored photography groups, written exhibition catalogues and regularly participated in portfolio reviews.
She is Chair of the Board of Trustees at Photofusion, a member of the Maud Sulter Advisory Board, and studied at the Courtauld Institute of Art and Magdalen College, Oxford.
