Constructing Worlds with Dafna Talmor - Saturday 19 September

£65.00

Date: Saturday 19 September 2026, 11:30 – 15:30
Tutor: Dafna Talmor
Website: www.dafnatalmor.co.uk

Dafna Talmor’s work often begins by revisiting photographs from her personal archive, exploring how existing images can be transformed through cutting, combining and reworking. Her practice is interested in the many ways photographs can be made and remade, and how photography can offer new perspectives on familiar subjects.

Inspired by this approach, this course explores the creative possibilities of working with found photographic material through collage. Using an archive of vintage 35mm slides, you will be invited to alter and reimagine photographic images by cutting, layering, drawing, scratching and combining fragments to create new compositions.

Working across analogue and digital processes, you will transform existing images, project your altered slides, and photograph the results digitally to create a series of unique image-based works.

The workshop encourages experimentation and play, through practical exercises, discussion and individual exploration, you will be supported to discover unexpected outcomes and develop new approaches to working with photographic images.

The day will cover:

  • An introduction to Dafna’s practice and working with found photographic archives and slide collections

  • Hands-on techniques for altering and collaging 35mm slides

  • Experimentation with projection as a creative image-making tool

  • Combining analogue and digital processes through re-photography

  • Time for individual exploration, discussion and sharing work

You will leave with your original collaged slides and digital files of the images you produce during the workshop. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided by Photofusion.
